Presidential Election

Presidential election comes this Saturday. I myself will definitely vote for the one I support firmly.

The reason to stand for him is simple: I love Taiwan, and I certainly don't want China to get involved too much in our domestic affairs. Moreover, allow me to remind those who think Taiwan is part of Mainland China: Taiwan is never a part of China if you carefully read and understand history of China.

Relationship with China makes the election more clear. I don't really buy the promises from both side, and I don't even like both them. But I will choose the one who precisely show China we Taiwan's standpoint. It's not something making friends. Too friendly at the very beginning will leas us to an embarrassing situation. As a result, China wants more and more.

Though the one I want to vote for seems not having the election in his pocket, I will still pray for him. :p

Response to the Trial Yesterday

I was not that into talking about politics since you have to be “blue” or “green” in Taiwan. If you say President Chen is not good enough, people will say you are definitely on the pan-blue side, and vice versa. However, criticism or compliment should be nothing more than the intention to make our nation stronger. We don’t need ideal hero or idol anymore because they are not always good leaders. People in Taiwan now tend to vote for someone just because of the image of him/her. For example, a candidate kneeled down last night; I bet many people will vote for him/her today because they would think he/she is a very kind, tender, gentle, or moral. Taiwanese people always look at the brightest side of everything. (Of course, not everyone who kneels down will win the election. But for someone on the edge, it is super useful.)


Ma Ying-jeou went on trial in a corruption case yesterday. And, of course, he claimed that he is totally innocent. Also, he declared that he would not give up presidential election until he is proven guilty after three trials

What Ma did and said impressed me. Some of them are interesting and FUNNY. Fist, according to Ma, he is guilty only after the whole three trails. Therefore, does he or anyone else have the right to ask President Chen to resign as Chen and his families are not even convicted in the fist trial? Did Ma even think is it proper to say that? Did he want to tell everyone that he is innocent or to show his ambition about the election? For me, the sentence is just a joke because he showed his contempt, not mentioned his major is LAW.

Second, Ma has always focused on being Mr. Clean. He keeps telling everyone and the press that he is the one suitable for being a president. Well…HELLO, I THOUGHT IT IS THE MOST ESSENTIAL QUALITY FOR A CANDIDATE, do you have to talk about that all the time? Being free from corruption doesn’t mean you have the vision and ability to lead Taiwan to a better future. It just shows you that you are MORALLY better than President Chen, SO FAR. If you do want to win the election, tell us your POLITICS.
